First sale of my niche site nr.1
I'm really excited to let you know, that my site has sold a product worth 1000 dollars. Wow, awesome. My first sale ever! Now I'm truly eager to work even harder on my websites and make them better. :-)

Year 2013
This year was my starting year. I started in October, so not any big results so far. But I have learnt many information mostly from Spencer. I believe 2014 will be very important year for me and my business.

Outsourcing done with HireWriters
My first outsourcing tries!
I decided to use hirewriters, it's cheap, you can select desired rating of author, and you can reject article you are not happy with.
I've made an order for an article for my site - 700-1000 words range.
Making order was easy and intuitive. However the results were not great. Why? Because I didn't have much money to spend.
The more money you offer for article, the higher quality writers will accept to write it.
The good thing is, you can reject article if you find it bad. There are some writers who obviously are not native English speakers, and some who just try to give you some spun articles.
Another great thing is that you can choose the required quality of the author. That is based on reviews from previous orders.
Finally I ended up with having some quite fine articles, which needed just some minor tweaking.

My new site - Niche site nr.1
After choosing a keyword and a topic of my site - which means long tail keyword research, search results comparison and evaluation and a lot of reading and learning from Spencer Haws, I finally created a wordpress site, hosted at hostgator (Edit: After a month I changed to bluehost)
Site is monetized through Amazon affiliate program, and products my site is about are in range from 350 to 1000 USD.
My main keyword has 4400 local monthly searches. And sites on top are mostly weak sites (forums, q&a sites)!
I hope to start ranking for my main keyword in few days.
23.11.2013 UPDATE: My sitemap status in google webmaster tools was "pending" for 4 days - very unusual. So I made a few changes - instead of the default wordpress sitemap, I now submitted a sitemap from Yoast SEO wordpress plugin.
30.11.2013 UPDATE: Sitemap problems are now history and I started to rank for some of my keywords!
I have to work on adding more content.
2.12.2013 UPDATE I'm going to hire a freelancer through http://www.hirewriters.com to write a primary article for my homepage! I had already written some content, but I'm not native English speaker and article writing is not my strongpoint, so I'm gonna try to outsource it.

- Can you attract enough unique visitors to your blog?
- Are your keywords searched a lot?
- Or is the topic very specific? (e.g Scientific blog about some specific problem)
- Are there any advertisers that might be interested in putting their ads to your blog?
In google adwords, you exactly choose the keywords for which the ads should be shown - So if your blog is about Techniques of measuring distance between the Earth and the Moon - there is a big chance, nobody is interested in such a topic.
On the other hand, I love RC planes, and often visit pages about them (those pages leave cookies on my PC), and very often if I visit a page absolutely unrelated to RC planes, there are advertisements from RC plane sellers!
- Are there enough people on earth I can possibly attract?
Don't forget, the more unique visitors a day you can attract, the better.
Blogs with the same visitors each day, or high amount of returning traffic are not very suitable and their earnings will probably be much lower compared to the blogs with high amount of unique visitors each day. It's called Ad blindness.
